Trophies Question

To my understanding everything has to be done after the patch has been installed for the trophies to be awarded, does this mean that you just start a new game on something you have already completed or do you delete the saved game data and start off entirely fresh?

What game are you referring to?
For non-retroactive games you need to start a new game to get the trophies. Depending on the game you might need to delete your currently saved game.

Oh, great. Now im going to be worrying if I need to delete my GTA IV saved data and do it over again before I get trophies. But, I dont think thats how it works.

I was referring to Burnout Paradise. I think I would have to delete the saved game because they only allow one per profile.

I would try to start a new game without deleting the old save. There's a trophy you get almost immeadiatly (I haven't played it yet with trophies but ive read the trophy list) called Off the Boat that you get right after the opening FMV. IF you get it without deleting the old save, obviously you're good to go

There's no games that give you trophies based on an old game save so when a game gets patched to have trophies you then have to restart the game completely.
