What do you use your PS3 the most for? Games? Blu-Ray movies? Internet surfing? Video storage and/or music storage? I use all of the above mentioned reasons and then some, but games probably get the most use of my system. What made you purchase the PS3 in the first place?

I wanted a blu-ray player at first then i saw a few vids of some games coming out so then it was for the games. now that ive had it and played some games on it my main use of the system is blu-ray. the games suck there full hd system tops out at 720p thats just sad.

I think right now the 360 has there stuff together with LIVE and achievements and has been that way from the start. the ps3 is disorganized and you can tell they just wanted to be like the 360 with the way they try to do things like friends and the whole store thing but i think they rushed into it to quickly.

I hear that the PS Home thing might be better if it ever comes out and i wonder if they will charge ? all and all im kind of disappointed that a system that has so much power and a format that has so much space could look so bad. Textures and over all game play is just that of the PS2 doesn't look out of this world. I hope some of the later games will look better. hell God of war on the ps2 looked way better then some of the ps3 games out right now...

-AE:rolleyes:

Uncharted and Call of Duty 4 look superb on the PS3. Give it time and by the the end of this year there should be some good looking games out for our PS3's. But Blu-Ray is a nice feature.

I've owned the previous 2 playstations, but i do have to admit that i originally bought the ps3 with blu-ray in mind.

I really have to hand it to Sony though, the PS3 is a well built machine and quiet as a mouse...i have a 360 which sounds like a tank and has already crapped out once, but hey what do they care they have our money either way..LOL

I have to agree with you on that one. My X360 makes a lot of noise as well. Very annoying when recharging the controller battery (you'll have to plug it into the USB port). It sounds like it wants to lift off :)

I'd say that there are x360s that have already taken flight....:D

First Person Shooters mostly. Nothing better than blowing stuff up after a long day at work. I like having the blu-ray, but get through so many films that it's too expensive.

I like it for the games. Uncharted, superstardustHD, Resistance 1/2, R&C, Warhawk, Killzone2, Home(two of my friends are in the beta now), Plus the demos are fun, the themes are good, and you can even put on your own background. Full screen youtube video. What isnt to love about it. PS3 For life.

Definitely got it for the blu ray player. I own a ton of games as well, but watching all my favorite movies in 1080 is just awesome!

Having trophies now is a definite bonus. AND I'm able to test the beta version of HOME and it is sweet!! Can't wait till the full version comes out!! :D

I use my Ps3 for games. Well, 90% games. I use it for music and videos, and I like to surf the web.
This thing is a beast-machine, and screw anyone who says otherwise (aka my xbox360 fanboy friends).

Been with Sony since the first Playstation, so I guess that would make me a Sony fanboy (although I prefer Playstation fanboy, but I am proud of it, ye hear me, PROUD!!): natural step was PS3 of course, even after checking the other consoles that is!

Plus, I like to try as many games/genres as possible, and still have a sizeable amount of PS2/PS1 games to play, so only natural that I needed the 60gb PS3 (Europe here, remember), for the WIN!

Of course its mainly games, but also watch movies on it a lot (not blue-ray, not untill it comes down in price, but its nice to have a future-worthy standard, take that Microsoft!!), and a couple of select internet things (zero punctuation being the main one -you haven't seen it, then you haven't lived), and music now and a-rarely.

Home? hhhhmmmm...tried it, its just too...tooo.....toooooooooo.....weak at the moment, so discarded it till we meet again and its pumped with steroids.

Curious, anyone use Folding at home? Would love to, but lol i'm tight, and the idea of leaving a PS3 (the 60gb model, no less), running at full power for the good of mankind...ill just donate money when im rich :D

Playing MGS4 I guess. The Playstation3 has Cell Engine, and majorly superior hardware to any other console. That's why I like my PS3.

It also has Killzone2 :)

For me its games. i love playing COD world at War. I have been getting into little big planet too, creating a level or two. I enjoyed FEAR when it came out, very atmospheric.

The blu ray player is a big bonus. I have not used it for anything else though.
I am happy for any tips to get more out of the faantastic machine.
